H.H. Williams Memorial Hospital in Hay River, Northwest Territories was the primary hospital serving the town and surrounding South Slave region for many decades. The facility was originally constructed in the mid-1960s (1964–1965) to provide acute care, emergency services, long-term care, public health, and visiting specialist services to residents of Hay River and nearby communities, acting as a regional health centre for southern NWT communities. Over the years it underwent expansions, including an addition in 1977, and served as a central healthcare hub through the late 20th century and into the early 21st. Tell us about your recollections of the old hospital in the comments below.
